Our publications consist of two print and digital titles, being ‘Real Deals’ and ‘The Drawdown’.
Real Deals publishes the most important European private equity news, alongside deep analysis and comprehensive deal coverage. Alongside the fortnightly print magazine, Real Deals is available as a dedicated digital edition for all subscribers.
The Drawdown provides vital insight and analysis for operational private equity professionals. Through monthly print editions, daily digital updates, regular seminars, conferences and awards ceremony, The Drawdown aims to support the industry's operational leaders as their functions evolve.

Real Deals Media’s events portfolio consists of a broad range of conferences, seminars and awards programmes in collaboration with our Publications, focused on business, finance and private equity. These include our long-standing (20 years +) Award ceremonies, such as the Growing Business Awards and Europe’s leading private equity award ceremony, the Private Equity Awards, and a full annual calendar of market leading conferences, breakfast briefings, dinners, roundtables (physical and virtual), webinars and podcasts.

The role:
This role is ideal for an experienced journalist who is looking for the right opportunity to develop their skills and knowledge.
We are a highly entrepreneurial team, which means there are endless opportunities for you to make your mark, whether that be by creating new offerings, new ways of working or even a new title.
Responsibilities:
Content
- Find and write daily news
- Produce regular news analysis content: looking beyond press releases and obtaining extra information
- Write editorial leaders and support the production of daily newsletters
- Source and produce regular profiles of private equity firms
- Produce regular long form analysis features
- Support the production of the print magazine and regular reports
- Pitch new ideas for both magazine, online and video/audio
Events
- Attend and report on key sector conferences, webinars and events, including international travel
- Hosting podcasts, webinars and roundtables (editorial and sponsored)
- Moderating panels at conferences
Industry development
- Develop your network and build relationships across the private equity market
- Increase awareness of our brand across the industry
Represent our brand at events (our own as well as industry events) - Collaborating with sister publications (The Drawdown)
- Work with various people and divisions around the business to support our commercial activities and event production
Social Media
- Support social media activity (LinkedIn mostly for our readership)
- Grow social media following and engagement
Opportunities
- Produce content across various platforms, including podcasts, webinars and virtual events
Increase data led content and offerings - Own your beat / area of focus that interests you most
Skills, attributes and experience:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a business or finance multimedia journalist
- Clear and concise writing ability
- Strong relationship building skills
- Confident interviewing ability
- A true team player - regular communication, flexibility and insight sharing
- Ability to understand and translate complex topics
- Strong time management skills, with the ability to work to tight deadlines
- Ability to source off-diary stories
- Reliable, accountable, self-starter and the ability to motivate yourself while working in the office or remotely
- Strong research skills
Preferred skills, but not essential:
- Prior podcast/video/webinar experience or readiness to learn
- Familiarity with InDesign
- Comfortable using social media to network and promote stories
- Commercial acumen
